Pet Photography

It’s no secret that I love pets. I prefer cats but a lovable dog is always fun.
I believe that love is a four lettered word and a pet is just as much part of the family as you are. I prefer a natural location where an animal can be itself. Those are often the best picture. If you cat is lazy, let it be lazy. If your puppy is hyper and won’t sit still let it run. Studio shots can be fun but I prefer the pet to be where it is happy. A happy pet will give you a great photo that you will be proud of!

My uncle had feral cats, I managed to tame them and get great pictures of them, so you don’t have to worry about your animals personality flaws such as “too hyper”, “too shy”, “too skittish”.  These cats were born into the wild!
I would love to go into a profession of pet photography someday. I have had many people why I picked pets and animals to photograph. Simple. Pets don’t talk back! Other than a “wolf” or  “meow”.  I am guilty of talking to my pets lots , as all pet owners do. They have their own language. The one thing they can’t do, tells me to retake the picture because they don’t like it.

Then there are the fun edits. Last year for my digital photography class, we had to create ads. So of course, I chose the ASPCA! I’m a strong believer that every animal deserves a second chance. My animals didn’t come from the ASPCA, but they all were rescues.
