Artists Are Their Own Worst Critic

It’s kind of written in stone. If you are an artist, then you are bound to absolutely hate some works, while other works you really fall in love with. I’m no exception. I do have a few artworks that I don’t care for. But, just because I don’t care for them, it doesn’t mean that someone else will like it.

Since the start of my journey, I continue to create and go through various stages with my art. It doesn’t matter if you’re a photographer,  a painter, a graphic artist or just prefer paper and pencil. It’s a fact, some pieces will come out better than others. Some pieces will be preferred over others.

At the start of my journey, the first pieces I uploaded a year ago. Today I look back and think what was I thinking.

“The worst enemy of creativity is self-doubt” – Sylvia Path

Continue to create something new every day even if you don’t like it. Even if it’s a doodle on a napkin. One day it might be popular or be the inspiration for the next idea. Keep doing what you love. These were some first designs that I did, I was in my tribal phase in my art. I do like aspects of these, but they aren’t my favorite. I know someone will like them though. The Geometric Blue Fox is quite popular!

Is anyone else guilty of this? Creating something and then asking themselves why?

Thank you for reading!
