I find trends anywhere, I just have to let it find me. There is no use forcing myself to create.
The first pattern is the current trend that I see in the stores, I call it the ugly floral. Those floral patterns from the 1970s & 1980s.
These floral patterns seem to be making their way back into stores. I decided I would create a modern version. I used bold colorful flowers and dream catchers.
My next source of inspiration is one of the newer Vera Bradly patterns called Butterfly Flutter. This pattern is part of Vera Bradly’s collection for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Here is my version.
I also chose butterflies. But in a simple blue and purple. These are the colors for suicide awareness. I did this when many famous people died of ending their lives. I added the words “keep fighting” and the symbol for suicide the semicolon as a reminder to keep fighting. #MentalHealthMatters
